Hyundai India Organizes The 'Miles And Smiles Rally'
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), the Indian counterpart part of the South Korean based multinational automobile conglomerate organized a 'Smile And Miles Rally' for its Grand i10 customers. India's second largest car exporter had organized this rally as a part of 'Experience Hyundai' programme on the 24th of this month and was sponsored by the Indian Oil Corporation.
Covering over 117 kms, the rally was flagged of from The Lalit hotel and was concluded at the same point. It turned out to be a huge success with nearly 250 customers participating with their families in 68 Grande i10 vehicles.
The main objective behind this rally was to help these Grand i10 customers to acquaint themselves better with their car, learn a thing or two regarding fuel efficiency, calculate the driving mileage and have fun as well as win prizes, while taking part in the process. The rally is an initiative taken by the HMIL corporation to spread awareness regarding the proper use of fossil fuels. Considering the fluctuating prices of gasoline, the firm hopes that such an exercise will promote fuel efficient driving habits among its customers.
While talking 'bout this rally, Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Senior VP, Sales and Marketing, HMIL said:

We are overwhelmed with the participation of Grand i10 customers in the Miles and Smiles Rally 2016 in Chandigarh. Hyundai is the most loved New Age merk and with these initiatives we connect with our customers and educate them on fuel efficient driving practices. "
The rally began with an interesting presentation on fuel consumption, fuel efficient driving techniques and road safety before the rally was flagged off. The participants then fueled at a nearby IOCL station. The fuel tanks were then sealed so that no one can refuel during the rally. The odometer reading were noted and the Trip Meter was set to zero.
After the rally took off, the participants drove on a predetermined route before taking a u-turn at the Ambala Cantt. and coming back at the IOCL station for refuelling. The amount of fuel consumed was measured and the participant who used minimum fuel was declared the winner. He/She was awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 15,000. The 1st and 2nd runner-up where awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 respectively. The fun filled evening was full of activities, games and surely, memories that will last a lifetime.
