Hyundai Creta Now Gets A Petrol Automatic Variant & Dual Airbags As Standard
We all know the Hyundai Creta has been the best seller from the South Korean giant and it won maximum awards of 2016 including the prestigious ICOTY (Indian Car Of The Year). It received such an overwhelming response that it raced to 1,00,000 bookings in last 8 months.
So to expand the love, now Hyundai has added a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission in Creta's SX+ variant of petrol making it the 1st SUV in India to give choices of both petrol and diesel automatic. Other being sedans like VW Vento and Skoda Rapid.
Hyundai claims that the Creta Petrol (SX+) Automatic will offer refined driving pleasure along with high fuel efficiency. This new variant comes equipped with AVN, projector headlamps with LED positioning, rear parking camera and sensors, smart key with push button, chrome plated door handle, Shark fin antenna, child seat anchor, 17” diamond cut alloys, a leather wrap on steering wheel and fully automatic temperature control. It is priced at Rs 12.86 lakh ex showroom Delhi.
Mr Rakesh Srivastava, Sr VP – Sales & Marketing, HMIL, said, “Hyundai Motor India has witnessed tremendous success with the CRETA- The Perfect SUV. Introducing the new variant of automatic transmission in Creta showcases Hyundai’s commitment to providing products based on customers wants and building the relationship as a customer centric company towards ensuring customers delight. With safety as our priority we have also introduced Dual Airbags as standard across all Creta variants. The new Automatic variants and enhanced safety features will be instrumental in achieving our aim to be the most preferred car manufacturer in India.”
The Hyundai with its fluidic design language has set a demam isu not only in Indian SUV market but is also exported to 85 countries across the globe. With its upcoming competition like the Honda B-RV which is also likely to have automatic gearbox, this 'perfect SUV' is strengthening its roots deeply into the market. But the Japanese competitor has an extra row of seats in its favour which will also be the segment first so it is likely to give a close fight to the segment benchmark. Will Creta hold its title in future? That will be answered when we stack up these SUVs head to head in some time. Watch out for that space!
